Introduction
Opened in 2006, James' Joint is one of the most comfortable backpackers' lodges that you will find in Malawi. Situated in Lilongwe, the Joint prides itself in catering to the weary traveler. If you're on a budget and looking to stay somewhere a little more fun in the city, James' Joint is the place to be. Meet other travelers, local Malawians and ex-pats, all with different stories to tell and anecdotes to share.
The Joint was started by James Hansford, a Briton, who's grown up in Malawi and worked in many other tourist establishments before finally deciding to start his own. His connections and wide range of knowledge on the country make it an excellent place to begin your journey.
With en-suite double rooms, twins and a dormitory, there is accommodation for everyone - whether you are on a budget or wanting something a bit more upbeat in a great atmosphere. Otherwise you can simply come and pitch your tent somewhere in our beautiful gardens.
