The City
Lilongwe is the fastest growing city in Africa and for those looking to do more in town there is plenty on offer. The city has many excellent restaurants and bars to explore in the evenings, with a growing multi-cultural selection of eateries.
Take a walk through the recently re-furbished nature sanctuary, where you'll find many species of animal rescued and cared for in beautiful surroundings. For those looking to do some volunteer work while they are here, Land and Lake Safaris are currently looking for assistance at the sanctuary.
A ten minute walk from James' Joint takes you to the Crossroads complex, where you can spend the day being pampered at the health spa. With swimming pool, gymnasium, sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi, you can take a load off your feet and relax for a while. Crossroads also has several internet cafes, restaurants, banks and supermarkets for all your day-to-day needs.

Lilongwe is many travelers first stop in Malawi but it's unlikely that you'll want to be here for more than a few days.
